I was born in 1977 in the town of Biddeford, Maine. I have taken part in competitive sports since the age of 6 including baseball and ice hockey at the high school varsity level.
I began playing golf at the age of 10 and shortly thereafter began competing in local and regional junior events. I was elected to the all-state golf team all 4 years of high school and won the individual state championship in 1994. In the summer of 1995 at the age of 18, I won the Maine State Amateur Championship and was elected Maine State Player of the Year.
In the fall, I began my college career at Florida Southern College with both academic and athletic scholarships. During my tenure at FSC, I contributed to 3 Division II National Championships. I also competed in the United States Amateur Championship in 1997 and in 2 United States Amateur Public Links Championships. I completed my college education in 1999 with a degree in Marketing and Finance.
I turned professional in the fall of 1999 and accepted positions as an Assistant Professional at Brookside Country Club in Allentown, PA and later as Golf Professional/Director of Instruction at Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club in Wolfeboro, NH (Golf Digest #8 Best New Private Club in 2004). In both locations, I was able to gain valuable experience in the business of golf and also learn the golf teaching trade directly under John Brown, PGA Master Teaching Professional.
I became a Member of the PGA on January 16th, 2004. Shortly thereafter, I qualified for exempt status on the Canadian Tour competing in events throughout Mexico, the US and Canada. I also qualified and competed in the 2004 United States Open Championship at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.
In 2005, I accepted a position as Membership Director at Haig Point Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina - a Troon Golf managed facility. Later, due to immigration logistics, I spent much of 2005 with my then fiancee, Tina Kind, in her native Germany. I took this time to learn about the German culture and the language while competing on the EPD Tour and providing instruction at a local private country club.
We married on January 14th, 2006 and relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona. I had accepted a position as a Teaching Professional/Assistant Professional at The Phoenician Resort, also managed by Troon Golf.
In March of 2007, I accepted the position as Head Golf Professional at Moon Valley Country Club in Phoenix, Arizona. I managed all golf operations at this renowned private country club, provided instruction, and also managed to do a little competing as well. I was the Southwest Section PGA Runner-Up Player of the Year in 2008 which included my first PGA Tour "Made Cut" in Las Vegas.
Tina and I purchased our first home here in Phoenix in May, 2007. We celebrated the birth of our daughter Julia on November 11, 2008. Our family is now made up of the three of us along with our 2 dogs Dolly and Carmen.
In November, 2009, I left Moon Valley Country Club to pursue an opportunity offered by James Robinson, a Moon Valley member, with a commercial real estate firm called Phoenix Realty Advisors. I now provide golf instruction and conduct events as a PGA Member, as well as provide real estate assistance to businesses as an agent of the firm.
